Dr. Jackson is an Infectious Diseases and General Medicine Specialist.
As well as being part of the general internal medicine service of the physician's group doing regular acute medical unselected on-call, he provides oversight to the Antimicrobial Stewardship committee as chairperson, and is the clinical lead for Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy for the southern region. He provides a consultation service for inpatients with respect to general infectious diseases, antimicrobial management, fever of unknown origin, tropical medicine, HIV and other viral diseases.
Outpatient consultations are available for infectious diseases issues. Dr. Jackson runs the city-wide OPAT clinic; and has close links with Cork University Hospital, providing the clinical lead on HIV and Hepatitis B care there.
